Model
The design of Monofoil has been an iterative appraoch. There have been 5 main physical
scale models of which several have had small design tweaks applied to them. A selection of models
can be seen below.

Model number four on the water
In conjunction with the building and testing of scale models, a detailed mathematical model has
been created. This mathematical model has been developed and enhanced using information gained from on-the-water
testing to create a comprehensive set of design parameters.
Final model on the water
The mathematical model was then used along with aerodynamic and fluid dynamic scaling laws to size
and design the full size version which is currently being constructed.
